Curtis and his twin brother Carl, were born to William Harding Laird, and Rosie Ellen Marshall Cain, in Oakwood, Oklahoma on August 29, 1938.

He attended school in Oakwood with his brother and 1 sister, Virginia Laird Cline. The family followed their father's military career and moved to El Paso about 1947. After his father's death, Curtis attended college seeking a mechanical engineering degree. This was where he met his first wife, Judy. He hired onto Boing in Wichita, Kansas and was ultimately laid-off. He then moved to Arlington, Texas, where he went to work at General Motors. Always a person of high energy, while working for General Motors he "moonlighted" as a carpenter for custom contractors in the Arlington area.

Curtis was a loving husband, father, & grandfather. He retired after working 34 years for General Motors and enjoyed his hobbies of working with wood and leather.

Left to grieve his memory are his wife of 34 years, Frances M Laird; son, William "Buddy" Laird, daughters, Laurie "Stormy" Wadley, and husband Marc, Dena Johnson and husband Alan and several grandchildren and great grand-children.

Preceeding him in death was his father, William Harding Laird, who died October 23, 1953, while in the Army; his mother, Rosie Ellen Marshall Cain who died March 14, 2011; His twin brother Carl Dwight Laird, Nov 23, 1997 and his sister, Virginia Laird Cline- March 5, 2010.
