Mrs. Stonfer was born on October 8, 1937, in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Mathilda (Benoit) Wood. On October 28, 1961, she married Robert D. Stonfer in Assumption Catholic Church, in Bellevue (Pittsburgh) and had resided in Center Township since 1975. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, and found enjoyment in gardening.
In addition to her husband of 49 years, she is survived by three sisters and a brother, Joan Hazard (late husband, James) and Judy Wood, both of Bellevue, Paul R. Wood Jr. and his girlfriend, Anita, of Wexford, and Linda Tomlin and her husband, Kenneth, of Lynchburg, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724-728-4000), where prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
Interment will take place later in the parish cemetery.
