Robert D. Stonfer, 77, of Center Township, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013, at his residence.

Born January 16, 1936, in Ambridge, he was a son of the late William and Anna (Kuhar) Stonfer. On October 28, 1961, in Assumption Catholic Church, Bellevue, Bob married Joyce F. Wood Stonfer, who preceded him in death on June 25, 2011. They moved to their present Center Township home in 1975. A retiree of LTV Aliquippa Works, he also was employed for 20 years in the maintenance department at Pittsburgh International Airport. Bob was a hardworking man and was known for his strong work ethic. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monaca and was a graduate of Ambridge High School.

He leaves a brother, William Stonfer and his wife, Helen of Baden; two sisters, Janis Stonfer and Donna Winkler and her husband, Richard, all of Ambridge; three nephews, David (Jackie) Stonfer of Mechanicsburg, Dennis (Judy) Stonfer of Baden, and Christopher Winkler of Ambridge; three great-nephews, a great-niece and a great-great-niece.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, (724) 728-4000, where parting prayers will be conducted Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the parish cemetery.
