Mass of Christian Burial for Richard E. ""Dick"" Joliat, 85, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at St. Clare Catholic Church, 5659 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst. Fr. Stanley Klasinski will officiate the Mass. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.

Mr. Joliat passed away Oct. 31, 2013, at his residence.

Born May 26, 1928, in Canton, Dick was a resident of Lyndhurst after moving from Mayfield Heights in 1962. He had been a member of St. Clare Catholic Church since 1957, where he counted collections, taught CCD and was on the bowling league.

A graduate of Central Catholic High School in Canton, he received his bachelor's degree from John Carroll University and worked as a CPA for Ernst & Young and Hanna Mining.

Dick was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Gilmour Council 310, Moses Cleaveland Fourth Degree, FEI (Financial Executive Institute), Internal Auditors Association and First Friday Club of Cleveland.

In his free time, Dick enjoyed bowling, golf, traveling all over the United States and Europe, and listening to classical music. Spending time with his family was his greatest pleasure. His family will remember Dick as a funny, hardworking, detailed, precise and determined man who was loved by many.

Survivors are his wife, Lillian E. (nee Vosmik); sons, Pierre A. (Susan) of Pepper Pike, John G. and Philip (Julie) of Chardon; daughters, Suzanne M. of Lyndhurst and Claire A.; grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Nicole and Amelia; brothers, Victor of Allentown, Pa., and Donald Pierre of Canton; and sister, Barbara Scott of Canton.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele M.; brother, Bernard; and sister, Beatrice Keffler.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dick from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of South Euclid, 4600 Mayfield Road (just east of Green Road).

Family suggests contributions may be made in Dick's memory to Notre Dame College, 4545 College Road, South Euclid, OH 44121 or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
