Gladys Violet "GG" Smithson Andrews died Wednesday May 29, 2013 at the Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 93. Gladys was born in Monroe County, MS and went to school at Bartahatchie High School. She lived most of her life in Columbus and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. After her retirement from American Bosch Corp , where she worked as an assembly line supervisor, she and her two sisters,Imogene and Cleone, moved to Vicksburg, MS in 1989 to be near her daughter and son-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Neal Andrews , her parents Grover and Elizabeth Coleman Smithson, her brothers, Clyde (Ella) and Kyle (Nell) Smithson, her sisters Imogene and Cleone Smithson, granddaughter-in-law Paige Douglas Logue and her granddaughter Lori Rae Logue Roberts.

Survivors include a daughter Wanda Andrews (Louis) Logue; two grandchildren Layne Logue and Dawn (Matt) Lundien; six great grandchildren, Brandon (Courtney) , Brigitte, and Brian Roberts, Forrest Logue and Hannah and Josh Lundien. She is also survived by nephews E.G.(Joyce) and Drannan Smithson; nieces Beth Smithson Kennedy and Sandra Kyle Smithson (Joel) Cohen; four great nieces Suzanne Smithson, Nancy (Rick ) Winstead, Karen ( Stan) Kimble, and Laura (Mark) Magee; two great nephews Chris (Roxanne) Kennedy and Michael Cohen; Survivors also include thirteen great -great nephews and nieces Christian, Nathan, Faith, Holly and Andrew Magee; Julian, Olivia and Isabella Cohen; Rebekah and Kyle Kennedy; Rebecca Winstead and Rachel (Brian) Ricks and two great-great-great nieces, Taylor and Addison Ricks

A family service will be held at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home in Columbus, MS on 22 June 2013 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00. Graveside services will immediately follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia, MS.
