Eunice B. Grinstead was the daughter of William Travis Grinstead and Maranda Elizabeth Priest. She married Walter Crockett Gillespie, son of James Henry Gillespie and Nancy Jane ("Nannie") Crockett, on March 14, 1905, in Blackwater, Cooper County, Missouri.

The couple had four children, all of whom are listed below.

On the 1910 Census, Longwood, Pettis County, Missouri, Eunice states that she has three children born and three are living, namely, Edward, Evelyn, and Virginia. The only child of Eunice and Walter born in 1909 was Virginia. Dorothy was born in 1915, and Evelyn died in 1915.

Son Edward married twice; the first marriage was ca 1930 and the second, in 1937. On the 1930 Census, Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri, living with Eunice and Walter is "Lola" who
is listed as their daughter; she is actually Edward's wife. The information describing daughter Virginia and daughter-in-law Lola was reversed on the census; Lola was not
a child of Eunice and Walter. On October 8, 1937, Edward married Georgia Blanche Long, daughter of Harvey Everett Long and Rena Grace (Long) Long, in Liberal, Seward County, Kansas.
