FORMER PASTOR OF ATHENS CHURCH IS BURIED FRIDAY
Funeral services for Rev. Ed J. Harris, 60, a former Athens minister, were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the First Methodist Church in Nacogdoches, where he began his ministry many years ago. Officiating at the funeral were Rev. W.W. Conerly, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Nacogdoches; Rev. Ray Loden, Methodist District Superintendent; Rev. John Wheeler, director of the Wesley Bible Chair at Stephen F. Austin State College, and Rev. J.L. Ross, a superannuated minister. Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.

Rev. Harris is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maxine Harris of Nacogdoches; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis Clark of Waco; and two sons, Rev. William Harris of Houston, and Ed Harris of Dallas.

The minister, well known in Texas Methodism, died Wednesday afternoon in Houston. He was retired at the time of his death. He resided in Athens over twenty years ago.
