Rodney L. Lynch Sr., 92 of Hartford passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2003, at Countryside Nursing Centre, South Haven.

Rodney was born March 28, 1911 in Hartford Township the son of Walter and Carrie (Manchester) Lynch. Rodney was a member of the Van Buren Historical Society, the Kalamazoo Rock and Gem Club and was a collector of many gems and rocks.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday September 8, at Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. Pastor Timothy Nyhuis of Hartford Federated Church officiated. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Rodney is survived by a son, Rodney (Ellen) Lynch Jr. of Coloma; two grandchildren - Rodney Lynch of Coloma and Laurie (Michael) Hurst of Watervliet; two great-grandsons: Zachary Bambrick and Jordan Hurst, both of Watervliet; nephew Wade Lynch of Watervliet, along with sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; his parents, and a brother, Milford.
Note: Rodney worked for the Calvin Funeral Home for a number of years prior to his death and was considered one of Hartford's great historians.
