Bert A Smith, 85, of RR 3. Bremen, died Wednesday, July 24, at Marshall County Parkview Hospital at Plymouth.
He was born near Bremen October 4, 1877, to Alex and Amanda (Perkey) Smith.
Mr Smith and Dora E Church were married Aug 11, 1898, near Bremen. She preceeded him in death.
He was a former employee of the American Radiator Company in Bremen.
Surviving is one son, Harvey O Smith of Mishawaka; two daughters, Mrs Fred Krouse and Mrs Emmet Carpenter of Bremen; two brothers, Frank Smith of Bremen and Walter Smith of Central Point, Oregon; three sisters, Mrs Sam Heckaman of Nappanee, Mrs Homer Powers of Edwardsburg, MI and Mrs Edward Sprouse of Stroh, Ind; ten grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Huff's Funeral Home, Rev Richard Eisinger officiating. Burial was in Bremen Cemetery.
