SANFORD – Andre J. (Andy) Lavertue, 74, of 10 Trafton Street, died Sunday at H. D. Goodall Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Lawrence, MA, October 25, 1910, son of Elie and Adrienna Forcier Lavertue.
He attended Lawrence schools.
Lavertue had lived in Sanford since 1946, coming from Lawrence.
He was a weaver and loom fixer, employed at the former Pacific Mills of Lawrence, Goodall-Sanford textile mills from 1946 to 1955, Gonic Mills of New Hampshire and Brooks Woolen Co. of Sanford. Lavertue retired from Brooks Woolen in 1972.
He was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church.
Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Mary A. Croteau Lavertue of Sanford; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Theresa) Conley of Beverly, MA; a brother, Alphid Lavertue of Fort Myers, FL; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday at 9 am in St. Ignatius Church. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
Calling hours are tonight, 7-9 pm and Tuesday, 2-4 pm at the LaFrance-Boisvert Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street.
