Clifton Akeley Unity 81. Of the Bangor road, died unexpectedly at his home Saturday 10-31-1998. He was born in Mapleton 4-14-1917 the son of Henry and Myrtle (White) Akeley. He was a resident of Presque Isle for many years, where he worked as a equipment operator. He also worked for SAD #1. After his retirement he moved to Unity where he enjoyed operating a poultry farm and working in the woods. Surviving are 2 sons, Quintin and his wife, Leona of Mapleton and George of Unity, 5 daughters, Judith and her husband, Geary Bonville of Presque Isle, Patricia Nova of Marysville, CA., Linda Pooler of Bradenton, FLA., Eugenia Aleley of Albion and Susan and her husband, Allen Cameron of Wisconsin, 3 brothers, Paul of East Corinth, Bernard of Westbrook and Henry Jr. of Presque Isle, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special loving friend, Thelma Vroom of Unity. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Amy and a son, John. Burial Fairmount cemetery.
