Robert Carl Estes, 74, died Nov. 24, 1989 at the NMMC after an extended illness. He was a native of Lee County, a veteran of World War II, the owner and operator of Crosstown Texaco for several years, a funeral director at the McGrath-Rasberry Funeral Home for a number of years, a retired salesman, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tupelo where he served as deacon and an usher. Services were Nov. 26 at the McGrath-Rasberry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors included his wife of 50 years, Vada Lee Estes of Tupelo; one daughter, Barbara Russell of Fulton; three sisters, Lorraine Scott of Rosedale, Lois Hankins of Saltillo and Louise Alexander of Memphis; and six grandchildren.
