Barbara S. Cown, age 70, of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013. Mrs. Cown is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Lewis C. Cown, Jr, Daughters, Carol and her husband (Donnie) Godwin of Ft. Walton Beach, FLA, and Lisa and her husband (Paul) Brown of Stone Mountain, GA, Granddaughter, Megan Godwin, Brother, Donald Smith, Sr of Forsyth, GA, 2 nephews, Donald Smith, Jr and Derek Smith both of Forsyth, GA, Uncle and Aunt, Warren Williams and Stella Williams, Father and Mother In-Law, Lewis and Vivian Cown of Loganville, GA and Brother In-Laws, Johnny Cown and family of Monroe, GA and Mike Cown and family of Loganville, GA.
Mrs. Cown was born to the late Carl and Dafner Williams Smith in Thomaston, GA and graduated from Mary Persons High School. She attended Marsh Business College, Atlanta and worked for Cofer Brothers for 40 years in their accounting dept.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.. A Service honoring the life of Mrs. Cown will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Snellville Christian Church with interment to follow at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Between, GA.
