John V. Miller, Farm Veteran, Dies
John Vincent Miller, resident of California for nearly 70 years, much of which time he devoted to farming in southern Santa Clara and San Benito counties, died yesterday at his home near Los Gatos, age 83 years. (discrepancy on middle name Vincent vs Valentine)
A native of Ohio, he came to California overland as a boy of 14. (discrepancy on place of birth vs Iowa)
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. May Miller and seven children,
Emmett C. Miller of San Jose, a member of the city fire department;
Lester Miller, Los Gatos;
Mrs. Mabel Dodley, Reno;
Fred Miller, Lower Lake, Cal;
Henry Miller, College Place, Wash;
and Charles and Herbert Miller, serving in the navy.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 o'clock from the Roger Darling funeral chapel with interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

The cemetery later reported, specifically:
He was cremated and the cremains were sent home.
