John Kinnear Davidson, 71, of 611 Stonewall Street, Lexington, dies suddenly at his home August 3. He was born in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Sarah Brown and William E. Davidson.
Mr. Davidson was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church and he was one of the oldest members of the City Lodge No. 67 A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Davidson was the first manager of the Lexington "ABC" store which opened in 1934. He resigned in April of 1959 just a short time before completing 25 years in this position. He was assisted by Charles Agor and Elsworth Leech.
Surviving are his wife; Mrs. Alice Sterrett Davidson, Lexington, one daughter; Mrs. Cornella D. Kraft, Bay Shore, N.Y.; three sons: William C. Davidson; Orland Park, Ill., John K. Davidson Jr., Roanoke, Frank S. Davidson, Johnson City, N.Y. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the graveside in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery August 5 at 11 a.m."[Rice-Fox-Love.FTW]
