María Michaela Mendoza y González was born at Mission Soledad where she was baptized March 24, 1795 (SLD Baptism 00240). She was the step-daughter of soldado Manuel Buitrón and the daughter of Gregoria González (both of Villa de Sinaloa). She married soldado José María Aceves y Cortez (SCL Baptism 00060) at Monterey December 28, 1809 (SC Marriage 00764). Their "Nuptial Blessing" was postponed due to the pending birth of her "natural child" and was received on February 27, 1810. María died at Monterey January 24, 1812 and was buried in the Presidio Chapel (San Carlos) Cemetery January 25, 1812 (SC Death 01993).
