Paul G. Hewer, 81, of Freeman, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 1981, at Freeman Community Hospital in Freeman.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, at Aisenbrey Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Farden officiating. Burial will be in Menno Cemetery, rural Menno, South Dakota.

Paul Gerhard Hewer was born October 11, 1899, in Hutchinson County, the son of Herman and Wilhelmia (Karo) Hewer. He married Anna Marie Kaufman on March 26, 1925, in Menno. Together they farmed the Hewer farm in northern Yankton County. In 1934, they moved to Oregon, where they lived for a year. They then moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where they lived for several years, until they retired and moved back to Menno. They later made their home in Freeman.

Surviving are his wife, Anna of Freeman; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and four brothers.
