Cole, Lt. Wayne Ret. Lake Forest Fire Department, age 81, a lifetime resident of Lake Forest, died October 26, 2013 in Naples, Florida. Wayne served with the City of Lake Forest Fire Department from 1961 to 1994 and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 264 Lake Forest, Illinois. Husband of the late Barbara (nee Stanley) (1999); father of Susan (Robert) Atkinson and William Cole; son of the late Lloyd and Emma (Wedel) Cole; brother of the late Charles (Lorraine) Cole; grandfather of Andre and Quinton Cole; great-grandfather of Jonah, Clare, Robbie and Andy; step-grandfather of Cindy (Jim) Siminak, Jeff Atkinson, Jill (Rob) Conner; uncle of Gary (Kris) Cole and Gail (Chuck) Beryle. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 1 at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 E. Vine Ave., Lake Forest. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2 at Wenban Funeral Home.
