Dorothy Coker Ackerman, passed from this earth Saturday morning, October 26, 2013. Born April 14,1923 to Everette and Mattie Lou Coker in Palmer, Texas. Preceded in death by her husband, Reginald John Ackerman, her parents, brothers Leroy, W.C. and J.D. Coker. She is survived by her brother Aubrey Coker, sisters Rachel Fletcher, Lynn Eva Allen, and Wynell Harper. She is also survived by her daughter Mary Elizabeth Larson and husband Steve, sons Reginald John Ackerman Jr, and wife Laurie, Joseph Anthony Ackerman and wife Diane. Her grandchildren, Gregory and Nikki Berg, Michelle and John Smolik, Jenifer and Ryan Miller, Carlie Ackerman and Casey Gay, Correy and Zack Thompson, Kristopher and Brandy Boren, Landon Cummins and Ryan Cummins. Her great grandchildren Ashley, Nigel, Miles, Olivia, Taurus, Jada, Jaden, Bella, and Maya. Her daughter in law Holli Ackerman and son in law Greg Berg. Plus numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Grove Hill Cemetery.
