Tommy Joe Eanes, 77, of Burlington died at his residence on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 8:20 a.m. following 4 ½ years of failing health.

A native of Danville, VA, he was the husband of Ada S. Eanes, who survives and the son of Herbert Lee Eanes and Clara Lee Bates Eanes, both deceased. He was the retired owner of Eanes Oil Service and a member of Altamahaw Crossway Church.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Greg Eanes and wife Becky and Randy Eanes and wife Alicia; four grandchildren, Tyler Eanes, Nicholas Eanes, Amelia Eanes and Zachary Eanes; and two sisters, Nancy Hoyle and husband Beacham and Peggy Robertson and husband Alvis.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carter Eanes.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Garry Yeatts and Rev. Mike Johnson. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for the loving care given to Mr. Eanes and his family.
