Inell Kinnaird Edwards died January 17, 2012 at home in Sandy, UT. She was and always will be the strength of our family. Inell was born February 12, 1940, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to Gilbert Russell and Claudie Flatt Kinnaird. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Jackson County High School in 1958. She graduated from the Nashville General Hospital School of Nursing in 1961 and went to work as a registered nurse in Murfreesboro, TN. Inell loved school and being a young working woman; she had fond memories of this time for the rest of her life. While she was in school, Inell met a young soldier named Jerry Edwards, who was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. They married on November 11, 1962, in Nampa, ID, Jerry's hometown. They raised their family in Idaho, Utah and Nebraska. Inell continued to work as a nurse in Nampa and Pocatello, ID, where she enjoyed meeting new people. She left her career in the mid-1970s to focus on raising her family. Inell was always creative, teaching herself to sew, knit and crochet. She made beautiful clothes for her family. When arthritis kept her from sewing clothes and tending to her garden, she kept her mind sharp with crossword puzzles and books. She read several books a week. Survived by her husband of 49 years, Gerald Edwards; daughter Shawna Edwards, of Holladay, UT; son Gerald Warren Edwards, daughter-in-law Sara and grandson Randy, of Omaha, NE; sisters Louise Allen, Kathy Knight, Irene Gore and Thelma Ford, all of Tennessee; brother Harold Kinnaird, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her beloved oldest son, Michael Vincent Edwards; parents; siblings Finis Kinnaird, Glen Kinnaird, Geneva Ayers, James Kinnaird, Mary Young and Elfrida Farley. The family will be holding private services at a later date.
