GREENSBURG RECORD HERALD OBITUARY – 02/17/1961
Mrs. Martha Ella Gumm, 97, of Summersville, one of the county's oldest residents, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday [February 13, 1961] at the Bethwood Nursing Home, Park City, KY. Mrs. Gumm was born in Green County April 29, 1863, and was the last surviving Charter Member of the Summersville Baptist Church. Surviving are 3 sons, J.M. Gumm, Summersville, L.L. Gumm and J.E. Gumm, Greensburg; 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Summersville Baptist Church with Rev. D.L. Druien, Rev. Henry Johns, and Rev. Elvin Clark officiating. Burial was in the Gumm Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnnie, Junior, Marion, George R., Billy, and Larry Gumm.
