NOTE: A PRE NEED memorial.

Born in Vivian, Caddo Parish, Louisiana on 05 November 1947 at the old Vivian Hospital now gone which is now the Town of Vivian parking lot. I lived with my mother at my grandmother's house, at the Veteran's housing apartments which is now National Guard Armory at 625 Park Drive, and finally on E Tennessee Ave in a small White House across the street from the City Swimming Poolinthe summer of 1956, my family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, when my father gained permanent employment with the US Post Office Department at the Shreveport Post Office.

Shreveport life: My father and mother bought a new home in the Cherokee Park subdivision near the Freestate Shopping Center off of North Market Street. Cherokee Park & Highland Park grew to 833 houses over the years by new construction. I attended Arthur Circle Elementary 4th grade, North Highlands Elementary 5th, and 6th grades, Hamilton Terrace Junior High School 7th, and 8th grades, then C.E. Byrd High School grades 9-12 graduating in 1965. My first part time job was with Bealls dry goods store in 1963. Then changed job to the Great Atlantic & Pacific "A &P" grocery store in the Freestate Shopping Center. In 2019, after residing 63 years on Iroquois Trail, I sold my family home to move to the Philippines with my wife Lorna.

Took the Postal clerk/carrier Civil Service Examination when a Junior in High School. Began employment with the US Post Office Department in March, 1967 in Shreveport, Louisiana as a Temporary Indefinite Substitute Carrier (P4). In September, 1967, took a military leave of absence to fulfill the military obligation due to the Vietnam war.

Resumed my postal appointment in July, 1971 after fulling my active duty obligation in the US Navy. Began work at the Mid City Annex, 2600 Greenwood Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana as a Distribution Clerk (P-4). Mechanization soon came in the sorting of mail, thus, qualifying as a Letter Sorting Machine (LSM) Operator (P-5 & P-6) in the distribution of mechanized Outgoing Primary, and City Primary mail. Eventually the opportunity came to distribute mail by City Secondary by Carrier Route in all Zip Code Zones within city of Shreveport. This event was the first to be achieved within the Jackson, Mississippi Division.

Retired April 1, 2004 as Postmaster (EAS-16) Campti, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana USA with combined Federal service of 37 years.

US Navy veteran of the Vietnam ERA. Service 1967-1971 at Training Squadron (Traron) 23, Kingsville Naval Air Station (NAS), Kleberg County, Kingsville, Tx 78363, and Fighter Squadron (Fitron) 124, Miramar Naval Air Station (NAS) (Fightertown U.S.A.), San Diego County, San Diego, CA 92145. Attended Navy Boot Camp at Naval Training Center (NTC), Company 520 of 1967, San Diego, CA, and Personnelman Class "A" School, 32nd Street Naval Station, San Diego, CA. Awarded the National Defense Service medal, and the Good Conduct medal. Achieved the rating/rank of (PN3) Personnelman 3rd Class Petty Officer (E-4) serving three years , nine months, and eighteen days in defense of freedom. Received a Honorable Discharge 13 September 1973 from the Fleet Reserve with a reenlistment code RE-R1, "Preferred for Reenlistment". Awarded the National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. A Vietnam ERA veteran.

U.S. Navy Motto – Non Sibi Sed Patriae – "Not self but country".

Photography in my lifetime began with cameras, and film to progress to digital. I photographed in personal, and commercial to create images. The invention of the World Wide Web (WWW) paired with the technology of computers, mobile phones, and tablets opened the world of paper photos, and digital photos to be shared across the world with family, and friends. Since I had mobile phones with a camera built in, I loved to take documentary photos of the way I lived, not to myself or my descendants to look in a book to know how I lived.

Diabetes has been my constant companion since the age of forty in 1987. It is like living with a dragon to flame one attacking anytime anything of it's choice to damage my quality of life.
