MRS. JOHN BROPHY OF MORRISON PASSES AWAY
MORRISON--- Mrs. John (Sue) Brophy, 28, died Sunday at 7 p. m. at the home of her aunt Mrs. Zelma Boyd, Portland avenue, Morrison, where she had been residing. She had been ill for four months.
The body was taken to the Reynolds Funeral home where friends may call. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. from Reynolds, and burial will be in Grove Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Brophy, nee Sue Olney was born June 3, 1923, in Chicago, daughter of Ralph and Vivian Olney. At the age of eight she made her home in Morrison, where she was educated.
A daughter Carol Ann, was born, to her and her first husband Lester Akker. Following a divorce she married Dr. John Brophy at Little Rock, Ark, who is serving his internship at Cook county hospital in Chicago.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband Dr. Brophy; daughter Carol Ann; mother Mrs. Vivian Olney Casper; and an aunt Mrs. Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her father and two aunts, May and Mabel Smith. -- The Daily Gazette, 25 June 1951, Pg. 2
