Alva R. Hatch, age 89, of Hatch Hill, New Albany, PA passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA

Alva was born November 27, 1923 a son of the late Alva Curtis & Cordelia Hart Hatch on the family dairy farm on Hatch Hill. He graduated from the New Albany High School a member of the class of 1943. Alva married the former Janice Marie Pelton of Franklindale on April 5, 1951 and they celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last April.

Alva was a lifelong dairy farmer and also worked as an electrician for Masonite Corp in Wysox for over 33 years until he retired. He was a loving spouse, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He really enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and was an avid Penn State Football fan. He also enjoyed traveling making a trip to Germany and also to Italy to visit his son Randy who was stationed with the military.

Alva was a member of St. Paul's Church of Christ, Overton, PA

Two sons: Donald Hatch Hatch Hill Randy (Gerta) Hatch Hatch Hill

Daughter: Robin (Larry) English Evergreen, PA

Brother: John Hatch Elkland, PA

Two grandchildren: Jeb (Becky) English Evergreen, PA Katrina English LeRaysville, PA

Two great grandchildren: Wyatt & Tristan English, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother: Ivan Hatch; and four sisters: Marion Newberry, Winnie Johnson, Geraldine Parks, and Gladys Kinsman.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hatch Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald L. Dyer, his pastor, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA
