Don grew up in South Bend, IN where he graduated from Riley High School in 1951. He was involved in theater and had maintained long lasting relationships with his high school friends. He attended college at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN where he was a proud member of Kappa Delta Rho and received a degree in Physics. He was drafted into the US Navy in 1957 and served working on the Navy's first rocket system.
After serving his country he worked for numerous companies as an engineer including Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, PA; Deidesheim in Rockford, IL; and Federal Mogul in South Bend, IN from where he later retired.
Don was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Billiau. Don is survived by his sons Andrew, (Leanne), Billiau of Abington, PA; Christopher (Jill) Billiau; his grandchildren Saylor, Hugo, and August; and his cousins and other relatives.
Friends and family are asked to gather at Don's home at 3201 Townsend Road, Petoskey, where his life will be remembered and celebrated on Sunday, October 27th from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
