Herbert W. "Smiley" Allison, of Aurora died Friday, February 6, 2004 at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles, IL. He was born December 8, 1915 in Plymouth, IN, the son of Elvis and Pearl (Tyson) Allison.

Herbert has served in the Army of World War II. He loved piano; in fact he played in Aurora, Fox Valley for many years, also in the Joliet area, Channahon, IL even Kankakee, IL. He never had a lesson in his life, he played by ear in his own original style. The last place he played was for the past few years at several nursing homes and retirement communities in Aurora; such places as Riverrain in Batavia, Asbury Court in North Aurora, Aurora Manor, Countryside Care Center, Tillers Nursing Home, Maple Terrace Retirement Home and the Kane County Township Senior Citizens Center. He entertained for over 55 years.

He is survived by his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Ruth, Jessie, Daisy and Louise; and three brothers, Carl, Harold and Robert "Bull" Allison.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Monday, February 9, 2004 at the funeral home with Rev. David Trosper officiating. interment will be in Blackberry Cemetery in Elburn.
