Lorene Oakes, 93, of Russell Springs, died Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown.

She was born July 11, 1920 in Russell County to the late Robert & Dora Bell Carol Crockett. She was a homemaker and attended the Parks Ridge Church of God.

Preceded in death by her husband, Junie Oakes; daughter, Darlene Crabtree; 2 sons, Philip Dale "Jim" Oakes, Paul Lee "Joe" Oakes; grandson, Wayne Crabtree; 1 grandaughter, Rebecca Jo "Becky Jo" Oakes; 4 sisters, Sally Polston, Sarah Crockett, Ida Johnson, Alice Brown; 5 brothers, Ed Lee Crockett, Tom Crockett, John Crockett, Jim Crockett, David Crockett

Funeral service for Lorene Oakes was at 12 Noon Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kelly Burton, Jr. and Bro. Billy Silverman officiating.

Burial in the Parks Ridge Cemetery.
