Jason Henry Abel, son of Dr. D. C. Abel, was born February 19, 1861, at Sunman, Indiana and died at his Daughter's home, near Buda, January 16,1925, and was buried in Ness County cemetery.
Jason H. Abel, in the company of his father, Dr. D. C. Abel and brothers, William and Lewis, came to Ness County from near Sunman, Indiana, in the spring of 1878. They came via covered wagon train, arriving in Ness County in May 1878, and settled on a homestead northeast of Ness City, in the pleasant Valley Neighborhood.
Mrs. D.C. Abel, Mrs. William Abel, Stephen, George and Mrs. Amy Abel came by train to Hays, Kansas, where they were met by Dr. D. C. Abel and his sons, Jason and William. They came from Hays to Ness County by covered wagon, arriving here September 10,1878. They moved at once to their homestead where they resided many years in comfort, although they shared many hardships with the other pioneers.
To Jason and Amy L. Abel, three children were born: Nettie Abel Reynolds, Lon Abel and Ada Abel Young.
