The parents of Howell are Drewry (Drury) Parker and Elizabeth (nee Barham) Parker.

Howell's brother Richard Parker is also a Revolutionary War Patriot and is buried in the Richard Parker Family Cemetery.

When Howell Parker died in 1796, the county wherein he had lived was Montgomery which became Stanly County in 1841.
Howell Parker is registered with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as an American Revolutionary Patriot. His rank was that of private in the Rowan County, NC militia. He was actively engaged in the fight for independence from Great Britain.
Howell Parker married Elizabeth Loftin in 1780 in Montgomery County, NC. The Montgomery County Courthouse burned in 1843, and all records were destroyed.
The children of Howell and Elizabeth are listed on the side of the Memorial Headstone with the birth dates of each child.
The birth record is from the Bible of Howell Parker, Sr. which was passed down through the family, and recorded in the Bible of Montford Stokes Parker, the grandson of Howell Parker. Credit for the Monument to the Howell Parker family belongs to Mrs. G.D.B. Reynolds. It was Mrs. Reynolds, a member of the DAR, who raised the money to have the Headstone Monument erected in the Howell Parker Family Cemetery. The Cemetery is next to the old Parker Gold Mine. The mine is currently closed and visitors are not allowed to enter the grounds.

There has been tremendous confusion through the years as evidenced by genforum and other community genealogy websites due to Drury, son of Howell, and his three sisters leaving NC for Franklin County, Alabama. (Franklin County was split in 1867; reunited to Franklin, and then a permanent split made in 1870 when a northern portion of Franklin became Colbert County.)

I hope the following list helps to clarify the issue regarding Drury Parker and his sisters.

Each name with an asterisk next to it indicates that the person left North Carolina and migrated to Franklin County, Alabama. Note that all three of Howell's daughters (with their husbands and children) left NC for AL.
The children of Howell and Elizabeth are listed as follows:
