Dareld was born on April 24, 1937, to Marjorie and Claude Blake in Bartley. Dareld graduated from Bartley Public School in 1955. He was honorably discharged from the Navy which he enlisted in at the age of 17.
Dareld married Joyce Blake on Aug. 18, 1957. He was a hard working man of many trades and retired from Sutherland Public Schools in 2012.
Dareld had a very active role in the Sutherland school system. He was very proud of the accomplishments of the Sutherland student body and hosted numerous hospitality events. He played a big role driving the activities
bus for the Sutherland School where he gained hundreds of grandkids, that best knew him as papa smurf.

Survivors include sons, Rick (Shari) Blake of Sutherland, Randy (Linda Blake of North Platte and Brad (Angie) of Glendale, Ariz.; five granddaughters; two grandsons; sister Claudine Brown of Bell Buckle, Tennessee; brothers, Delbert (Neola) Blake of McCook and Dale (Roberta Blake of Danbury, Nebraska and his many loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his parent's Claude and Margie Blake, brother Willard, wife Joyce, and granddaughter Missy Blake.

Services will be October 29 at Odean Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery south of Sutherland.
