Steven Allen, 61, of Wellington, Kansas passed, Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 24 at the First Christian Church in Wellington, KS. Burial will be at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington. A memorial has been established with the Avenue of Flags or the Wellington Humane Society PO Box 494, Wellington, KS 67152 and may be left with the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home of Wellington.
Steven Ray Allen was born November 25, 1951 the son of Emerson and Betty Lee (Ray) Allen in Wellington. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1970 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Education. Steven joined the US Navy and served his country in the UDT Seal Teams all over the world for over 24 years. Steven was united in marriage to Jana Staley in 1992. He worked at Allen Trenching, worked for the City of Wellington, and was currently the Maintenance Supervisor for Sumner Regional Medical Center. Steven was a hard worker and always cheerful; he could talk to anyone, but was also tenacious and determined. He was involved in pet rescue, enjoyed spending time traveling and loved the ocean.

Steven is survived by his wife Jana of the home, sons: Brian Cochran of Wellington, Lee Cochran of Wellington, and Joseph Cochran and his wife Shanna of Minot, ND; brothers, Doug Allen and his wife Janet of Milan, KS and Bobby Allen and his wife Vicki of Mt. Hope, KS, as well as many nieces and nephews. (and father, Emerson Allen, Winfield, KS)
