Carolyn "Connie" Buchner, 84, passed away Friday at St. John's Medical Center, Oxnard, Calif. following a brief illness.

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Connie was born Carolyn Helsel in Phillipsburg, Pa. to John and Ardeth Helsel.

Connie spent most of her young life in Norwalk and was a 1947 graduate of Norwalk High School.

Although a resident of California for more than 60 years, Connie maintained a lifelong love of her home town and visited every fall (her favorite season) to see the leaves change, and to reconnect with her family, lifelong friends and high school classmates.

Known for her love of life and fun spirit, Connie was always young at heart. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by sons, David Hardisty, Dana Hardisty and daughter, Rebecca Myers.

Grandsons, Tommy Hardisty, Daniel Hardisty, James Hardisty and Eric Hardisty; Sean Myers; great grandson William Duckhart. Sisters, Vivian Eberly and Jackie Helsel; Norwalk.

Sixteen nieces and nephews and numerous good friends and neighbors. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ardeth Helsel, her sister Jean Welty and her granddaughter Kaiya Myers. At Connie's request, no service will be held. A memorial service will be held in Norwalk at a later date.
