This grave was originally in the Kitzmiller Cemetery along Elk River a few miles above Sutton. All 121 graves in the cemetery (No 2) were relocated by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1959/60 to a brand new Braxton Memorial Cemetery prior to the completion of the Sutton Dam. The original site was submerged in the backwaters of the dam.
