Joseph "Joe" Guider
Born 3/1/1932 passed 9/16/2013.
He was the son of Jim and Toni
Guider. He helped his folks run
Various roller rinks in California
And Nevada. They moved to
Sacramento in 1948 and ran
Rainbow Gardens Roller Rink,
Then Rainbow Roller Rink. He
joined the Army in 1949. He
married Betty McMullen and
had two children. He was in the
Army for 15 years, Two spent in
Korea during the war. After the
service he worked for his dad at
his electronics firm Nugget Mfg
in Rancho Cordova and Orangevale.
He moved to Reno and lived and
worked there for 40 years. He
retired from a firm that made
commercial restaurant equipment.
He is preceded in death by his Dad,
Mom and niece Wendy Thomas.
He is survived by his stepmom
Dolores Petersen of Grants Pass,
His sister Dorrie Hook and brother-
in-law, Ron from Elk Grove, his son
Joe Guider and daughter-in-law
Susan, his daughter Susan Jamison,
6 grandchildren, Jennifer Valiquette
and husband Kevin, Kelli Hernandez
and husband Val, Matt Guider,
Jaime Newberg and husband Tim,
Cori Skeeters and husband Jason,
Ashley Williams and 13 great-
grandchildren all in the Medford
area, his nephew Mike Hook and his
wife Timara, great-niece Megan,
Hook, great-nephew Nathan Hook
all of Illinois, great-niece Heather
Famoso and husband Sam of
Cameron Park, great-niece
Brandi Hannaford and husband
Jeremy of Oak Grove, KY.
At Joe's request there will
be no funeral. He will be laid
to rest at Mt. Vernon Memorial
Park next to his Dad.
