Louie Major Dean Mr. Dean, 87, of Charlotte, NC died Sunday January 30, 2011 at the VA Hospice House in Salisbury, NC. Born May 26, 1923 in Starr, SC, he was a son of the late Louie Clarence Dean and Eva Pruitt Dean. He was a US Army veteran, member of Cooks Memorial Presbyterian Church, owner of Dean Tire Co., Inc. in Charlotte and assisted his wife in the antique business. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2 at Cooks Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. TJ Thompson officiating assisted by Seminary Intern Tim Tate. The family will receive friends following the service. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Frances Dellinger Dean; sons, Gene (Rhonda) Pressley of Charlotte, Jimmy (Joy) Pressley of Iron Station, Louie (Lynn) Dean of Gastonia, Tony Dean of Harrisburg, Joel (Loretta) Dean of Concord; daughters, Debra (Steve) Johnston of Charlotte, Nancy (Daryl) Black of Iron Station, Alice (Herb) Adkins of Charlotte; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam and Curtis Dean and sister, Mildred Burdette. Memorials may be made to the Hospice, W.G.
