Alice E. Ruby, age 85, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 23, 2013, at Regency Rehabilitation Center.
Alice was born February 23, 1928, in Litchfield, Nebraska, to the late William J. and Hattie (Wray) Townsend. In the 1960's, Alice worked for Boeing Corp. and from 1971-1980, Alice was a parkette for the city of Council Bluffs and from 1980-1985, Alice worked at Dodge Park Golf Course. She retired fully in 1993. Alice was a member of Broadway Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship and The Center.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bart Ruby in 1995; son, John W. Eledge, Jr. in 2003; companion, Newell Roberts in 2012; sisters, Melise Wheeler and Joyce Howell. Alice is survived by her sons, David (Connie) Eledge, Jerry (Linda) Eledge all of Council Bluffs; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
