Mrs. Horne was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Jay, Fla., to John L. and Alma I. (Johnston) McArthur. She had worked as a licensed practical nurse for the Independence Surgical Center for more than 15 years, retiring in 1984. She married to Lyle W. Horne on July 4, 1942.
Her survivors include her husband, Lyle W. Horne, of the home; a daughter, Bonnie Sendejas, Kansas City; a son, Phil Horne, Tecumseh, Mo.; three brothers, John McArthur, Independence, Cliff McArthur, Durango, Colo., and Carl McArthur, Jay; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
