Rev. O. G. Tillman, pastor of the Baptist Church, of this place, was assisted by Rev. J. E. Thompson of High Point, a former pastor.
Mrs. Barker was a member of the Asheboro Methodist Episcopal Church, a member of the U.D.C., and several other organizations of the town.
She was a daughter of the late Dr. F. E. Asbury, of Montgomery County, and of Asheboro.
She is survived by her husband and two children; four sisters, Mesdames A. R. Hix and H. C. Luther, of Asheboro; Mrs. Paisley Nelson, of Mebane; and Mrs. L. L. Richardson, of Star. One brother, J. W. Asbury of Warrensburg, Missouri, also survives.
