Orrin, the fourth of eleven children of Thatcher Jones and Louisa Raymond was born on 7 November 1827 at Sanford, Maine. Orrin married Emily Jane Hatch (1833-1920), the daughter of Barak and Mary (Chick) Hatch on 3 January 1853 at Wells, Maine.[1]They had nine children:

Orrin Green Jones died on 4 February 1899 in his 72nd year at Sanford.[7]He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery at Alfred, York, Maine.[8]
