County Dies at the Home of
His Son
IDAVILLE, Ind. Dec 1, Harvy
U. Helvie; 68, life-long resident of
Carroll county, passed away late
Wednesday at the home of a son,
Walter Helvie, near Rockfield, following
an Illness of a week. Helvie had
sustained a stroke about
one year ago. Born in, Carroll county
September 12, 1870, the son of William
and Amanda Helvie, the deceased
has spent his entire life In the
Carroll community.
Surviving are, the widow, Mar
garet; three sons: Walter, of near
Rockfield, and Paul, and Leonard
of Burnettsille; two daughters,
Mrs. Mae King, of Russaville, and
Mrs. Maude Tribet, of Royal Centre;
three sisters: Mrs. Etta Kelsely,
of Flora, Mrs. Burt Riley of
Kokomo, and Mrs. Maggie Herr,
Bringhurst; a brother Manford
Helvie, of Lennon, Michigan; and
fifteen grandchildren.
The body was removed to the
Miller funeral home at Idaville
and was to be returned to the home
of the son, Walter, Friday after
noon, where friends are invited to
call.
Funeral will be conducted
at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon
at the Burnettsville Baptist
Church with Rev. Adams of Royal
Centre officiating. Burial will be
made in the Davis cemetery east
of Burnettsville.
