Bernard Hubert was born 3 November 1909 in Ashland, Wisconsin, to Andrew and Anna Tetzloff Fralka. Bernard grew up in Ashland and married in 1943 Esther I. Beissel. Three children were born to this union. Bernard became a Great Lakes engineer and shipped from Ashland numerous times on board the lake freighters. He changed the spelling of his name to be more like its original spelling, Frolhke. He died in Ashland on 13 November 1962.
