Lewis Eugene Hancock passed away on Oct. 5, 2013 in Lake Havasu City. He was born in Bruce, Miss., Nov. 18, 1939, to Otis D. and Ruth O. Hancock.

Lewis attended Louisville High School, after which he enlisted in the Navy, where he had a 30-year career, retiring as Master Chief. He then took on a second 10-year career with the police department in Grass Valley, Calif. In 2003, he and his wife, Gloria, retired to Lake Havasu City, where he was active in camping, golfing, the Elks and Calvary Baptist Church.

Lewis is survived by his children, Ada Woodward of Louisville, Miss.; his son, Brad of Calhoun, La.; and his daughter Patt Kregelo of Lake Havasu City; and his brother Bobby Hancock of Memphis, Tenn. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Courtney, Mitchell, Ashley and Louis; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved Yorkie, Maggie.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Otis D. and Ruth Hancock; sister, Betty; wife, Gloria and his brother, Otis. Sadly, his youngest daughter, Genia Lynn Hancock of New Orleans, La., passed away shortly after her dad on Oct. 7, 2013.

Services will be at Calvary Baptist Church, 1605 S. McCulloch, Lake Havasu City, Friday, Oct. 18 at 1:45 p.m
