Larry graduated Jefferson High School in 1957 and attended Kilgore College. He moved to Longview in the early 1960's, was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and East Texas Home Builders Association.
Larry owned Barnette Distributors during the 1970's and 1980's and later became a home builder and started Southern Influence Homes. His last two homes he built were for his children before retiring.
Larry enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities, was an animal lover, enjoyed fishing and cooking fish and riding his Harley. Larry was preceded in death by his son, Shannon; brothers, Causby Barnette and Charles Barnette.
Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Jefferson, Texas.
