Funeral services for Marie Chitty, 90, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Chaplain Mike McNair officiating.
Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013
Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Sunday morning, October 20, 2013, in Wills Point.
Marie was born July 27, 1923, in Van, Texas, the daughter of Frank L. Blackstock and Velma Taylor Blackstock.
She was raised in Wills Point and Myrtle Springs. In 1941, she graduated from Wills Point High School. On February 6, 1946, she married Odie Clarence Chitty in Dallas. They owned and operated Chitty's Nursery in Wills Point and she retired in 2004. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, needle point and shopping. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Odie Chitty on August 16, 2005; brother, Franklin Blackstock and a sister, Mozelle Ashworth.
Marie is survived by two children, three grandchildren, one sister, Dean Gunter and other family members and friends.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon one hour prior to service.
