"Louis W. Munzinger passed from sleep into eternity early Tuesday morning at his home here. He has been in poor health for months, but attended to his affairs with little interruption. On the day preceding his death he was heard to say that he did not want to lie down, doubting whether he would ever get up again; his foreboding proved prophetic. His father, Louis Munzinger, was a pioneer resident of the county, and was married in Lone Pine. The firstborn son of the family was killed there in the earthquake of 1871[sic]. Louis was born there July 4, 1873; probably the patriotic day of his birth suggested his middle name, Washington. The father moved to Bishop a few years later and Louis grew up here and has made it his home ever since except for some short stays elsewhere for business reasons. He was married here to Miss Leonora May Deck May 15, 1899. Two daughters were born to them, now Mrs. Estelle Ough and Mrs. Violet Armistead, both of Oakland. Mrs. Ough and children were here, and Mr. Ough and Mr. and Mrs. Armistead came this week. Louie, as every acquaintance knew him, was a man of generous impulse, and many good qualities. Numerous friends extend sympathy to the hereaved[sic] family. The funeral occurred to-day from Albright's funeral chapel." The Inyo Register, Bishop, CA Thursday, January 24, 1929, p. 1.
