Arthur L. Shrout, age 77, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 1, 2011, in Willoughby. He was born Jan. 9, 1933, in Peppertown, Ind., and lived in Mentor for 16 years. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, at Jack Monreal Funeral Home, corner of E. 320th and Vine streets, Willowick 44095. Arthur was a Korean War veteran. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and was a jack-of-all-trades. He very much loved his family and was respected by all. Mr. Shrout was employed by Clevite Industries. He was a supervisor, retiring after 25 years of service. Survivors are his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara (nee Lucas); children, Arthur Jr. (Dee) and Terriann (James) Sabo; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Margaret Pricer and Rosemary Bryant. He was preceded in death by his son, William Wayne (Rose); and brother, Walter. Friends may call Wednesday, January 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Douglas Browning will officiate at services. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Chester Township. www.jackmonreal.com.
