Mr. Royal was born the son of the late Amos and the late Mary (Lambeth) Royal; however he lived the majority of his life in Montgomery County. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Lucas Royal of the home; three daughters: Mary R. Braswell of Troy, Debbie R. Honeycutt of Matthews and Cindy R. Stutts of Troy; two sons: Johnny Royal of Troy and David Royal of Holly Springs; three sisters: Betty Johnson of Troy, Ella Bowman of Ulah and Jean Reeder of Albemarle; one brother: Pete Royal of Candor; 9 grandchildren: Julie Andrews, Chris Royal, Joey Russell, Jamie Brown, Frankie Royal, Tammy Jarrell, Donna Greene, Jennifer Stutts and Jessica Stutts; 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley Royal and a grandson, Ryan Royal.
