Johannes H. "John" Bockwoldt, 92, of Davenport, passed away, Tuesday, January 21, 1975, in Davenport.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, at Halligan-McCabe Chapel in Davenport. A memorial fund has been established in his memory.
Private family services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 24, at Halligan-McCabe Chapel in Davenport. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
Johannes Heinrich Bockwoldt was born January 18, 1883, in Strukkamp, Island of Fehmarn, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of Peter and Anna (Jahn) Bockwoldt. Following the death of his father, he along with his mother, brothers and sisters, immigrated to the United States to Davenport in 1896. He used the name John during his lifetime. He married Augusta Roggenkamp on March 9, 1909, in Davenport. He was employed as an inspector with the French and Hecht Company in Davenport, until he retired. Augusta preceded him in death on July 8, 1973.
Surviving are one daughter, Iola Bockwoldt of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a step-father, three sisters, and one brother.
