John T Sharp, beloved patriarch of seven children, 31 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2013. He was surrounded by family and friends. He is now reunited with his wife and son who preceded him in death.

John Truman Sharp was the second of seven children; he was born Sept. 22, 1919, to Vernon and Mildred Sharp of Cub River, Idaho. In his early years he attended school up until the eighth grade, where he went straight to work on ranches and farms. He was a hard worker his entire life.

He met the love of his life, Martha Glenn Sharp, at an LDS Church dance. He heard her sing and knew from that moment that he wanted to marry her. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple Feb. 4, 1941, for time and all eternity. He then served an honorable LDS mission in the Western States with his sweetheart joining him the last year of his mission. They were married for 69 years.

He had a deep love and loyalty for his family and friends. He was an incredibly hard worker that didn't take much of a break, but if you stuck around long enough you might find him taking a quick nap on the ground with his hat over his face, using his arm as a pillow. When he wasn't working he loved to travel with his family and friends to see as much as he could. He was easily identified by his beat-up black truck and his baseball cap cocked to the side.

He is survived by four sons and two daughters: Michael Sharp (Nina) of Kent, Wash., Ronald Sharp (Diane) of Cambrea, Calif., Liz Casper (Kyle) of Stockton, Calif., Ivan Sharp (Lisa) of Amalga, Utah, Polly Kennedy (Bill) of Wellsville, Utah, and Zan Sharp (Vivian) of Wellsville.

"We love you and will miss you."

Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at Allen-Hall Mortuary. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Oct. 22 in the Wellsville Stake Center with a viewing at the church from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Wellsville Cemetery.
